So far I got 6 fertile clutches totalling 32 eggs. From 5 different locales of AZ redbacks. I also got at least 3-4 infertile clutches that were pitched. One of the clutches was a second clutch from my favorite locale. Hope they all hatch!

Wow Tom, that is awesome!! I did not know that any would/could double clutch in a year. Are Chuck eggs similar to Uros in that they mold very easily? Were all of your clutches buried in nests? Are the containers kept sealed? Any holes in them?

Congratulations Tom! Based on your track record, you're gonna have some babies pretty soon. I may need to pick up a male and 2 females... What's the going rate on Grebwallas?

Hi Guys

Tim

Yeah chucks do occasionally double clutch. I have had it happen maybe 10-15 times in 20 years of breeding chucks. It is not common but not unheard of. I believe chuck eggs are much easier than uro eggs although the uros I have hatched(moroccan, mali and saharan) were not that difficult either. I think it is important to keep the uros eggs a bit drier than chuck eggs. All I do for any incubation medium (all I use is vermiculite) is soak it then squeeze out the excess water. I just squeeze a little harder for uro eggs. LOL. The containers are sealed but do have holes; 4 - 1/4" holes in the square containers and 8 maybe 1/16" holes in the round ones.

Tom

I sell them as unsexed babies. I don't plan to have them until they are sexable. LOL. What I don't sell will go to Europe come December. Hatchlings go for 100.00 to 125.00 for redbacks and 150.00 for carrot tails.

Tom -
That makes sense. I think we'll have to put much faith in your gynecological skills then. I still think I will probably want 1.2 unless the desert is good to us in a couple of weeks (sorry LMS... ;) ) Would that be ok?
