This was actually her second year laying. In 2009, she did the same thing, but we weren't prepared for it at all. There was no nesting box or anything.
I used Hatchrite. I don't recall the exact amount of water I used; whatever the directions instructed. I didn't microwave it. I'll be sure to do that next time.
I don't remember if there was a red spot on the eggs. I did place the eggs in the same orientation I found them. Now, she may have kicked them around and piled sand in top of them before I found them though. -------------------------
I'm actually planning on setting their cage up differently. I'm replacing all the sand with newspaper, so hopefully, next season, she'll be more inclined to use the nest box.
Since Ive had them, the pair has always been together. Do you think this a factor as to why she laid her eggs scattered all over creation? Perhaps the male's presence upset her? I'm considering separating them already, as soon as I get another cage set-up.
