The new trio seems to have settled in rather well. They are very active and are staying out and about much more now. I was able to get a couple photos of 2 of them today. I was standing back using a zoom lens, so not the best photos, I didn't want to scare them. Here is one of the females.....

And the male...

Both....

The other female has more pronounced white spots. She seemed to be hiding when I had the camera out. What I find fascinating about them is their small size. They seem so small compared to our Mali and the adult Ornate female. They also seem very active.

I finally caught the other female basking. Again, not the best photo, but we are still letting them settle in. Here she is.....

Nice animals and pics Tim!

It seems like a good amount of keepers keep uros on bird seed.

I think I will be the only person on this forum who will not be using bird seed as substrate. hahaha

Very nice Mike!

Are your sudanese uros pretty shy compared to the other species?

Yours look a lot like ours, Mike. I think they're very pretty, Sudanese, despite the fact that they lack the ornates color. How much do yours weigh on average?

Some sudanese are very stunning and are pretty close in color to the ornates....minus the yellow, BUT it seems like the doug dix sudanese pics are some outstanding and not typical animals.

My bigger male is green and red and my bigger female is blue and red. It is hard to capture the color and they are underweight though. I am actually surprised how much red they have. I saw the male trying to breed the female all day yesterday....but I doubt anything will come of it. They need to put on some weight.
I think the male I got from Troy is going to become a screamer....especially once I am able to house the uromastyx outdoors

I agree with you there. Doug has an all green ornate that I've never seen the likes of before. I can't wait to see some photos of your ornates.

Actually my pair that is housed together is pretty mellow they never run or panic or show any stress when i open the cage or anything i hand feed them sometimes as well , in the contrary i have to make sure they don't run out of the cage they are really outgoing Sudanese , i know sudans tend to be kind of skittish but my pair is great. My extra male on the other hand ever since i separated them from the other two ( I bought them as a probable trio) has gotten a bit nervous in his new cage but still eats from my hands . As far as weights on them right now im not sure my scale broke so now im in the process of getting a new one. Sudans tend to be a more slim species compared to ornates which my adult ornate pair is really good weight and i feed them the exact same way as my sudans and my sudans aren't as "Plump" as my ornates. The pictures of my animals are outdated and i need recent ones

ill take new pictures of my uros when i get my camera back from my girl friend lol

Its a bit hard to beleive that your Sudanese are so tame. Ours are very skittish in comparison to your explanation. :) Then again, ours are pretty new. They are probably about average sudanese shyness, but then again, I have never seen another sudan. Though there is an improvmet. Sometimes, they will take a dandelion from my hand, which one of our ornates has only done once.
