For the life of me, I cannot locate a photo of our set-up, but I will just describe it for now.

We have our 1.1 Saharans in a used 42"wide x 36"long x 24"high glass tank that was given to me for free (don't you just love scoring free cages?)

We use fine-grade playground sand for substrate.

There are two lamps for the tank. One is a 160 watt Mercury Vapor Bulb that is on between 10-12 hrs daily. The second is another 150 heat bulb that is on for 4-6 hrs daily (about the heat of the day). The various basking locations may vary from 95'F - 140'F, which the lizards routinely use.

There are several natural granite rocks for basking, and three different half-log hides.

Their nestbox is a Sterilite shoebox with that Excavator stuff (suggested by DeerFernFarms).

These are very old photos (before we attempted to breed them and placed a nestbox in there, and the multiple hides)

Here's an updated pic of the enclosure I took last night.

That looks like the perfect home for a uro! Is that a hide box under the rocks?? I know some of ours really like a hide/nest box. That's a cute uro on the hot spot. Looks like the girl, isn't it??? You know, there's a reason my username is uro on her hotrock. I just LOVE when uros smush their bellies against the rock and soak up the heat. My girl's doing that now, trying to get as much heat as she can off a ninety degree rock. Not at all ideal for a uro, but we had to take her away from my boy. . . . I'll have her some place warmer tomorrow.

Some of those rocks can heat up to 130'F+ during the heat fo the day, and those lizards love it.

Yeah, thats the nestbox over on the left where the female is.

Do they ever hide in it? I know my girl does, but she might just like to hide in the tube, it's hard to know. I got her someplace warmer. It was a bit too hot, so I need to go see how it's doing. I can't imagine overheating a uro, they're such little heat lovers. Mine love it when it's about 120. You rarely pick up a uro that's not warmer than your hand.

When she was gravid, she would often rest in it. They usually hide under their logs most of the time, though.

Oh yeah, in your pic, I can see your boy peeking out of one of the logs. They look like something a uro would like.
