Got a lovely pair of ornate hatchlings from Deer Fern farms last December and they are doing great. The female is tame as a puppy and about knocks on glass to come out and the male is coming around.

Such cuties.
Our ornates will stay indoors but after the first winter we built an outdoor enclosure for our mali uros and they are thriving in the AZ climate. They do have a large deep tunnel to winter in and they use it well and will still come out and sun on nice winter days. They just eat up the summer sun and are growing like crazy. Even seem to have grown over the winter.
We are feeding a mixture of free choice millet, uromastyx dust with ground lentils and daily mixture of free choice spring greens. They also get the benefit of our garden and eat a large variety of flowers and herbs. For the outdoor uros we have planted a strip of sod and they do seem to graze a little but still eat mostly the supplied food. They are enclosed with hatchling tortoises and eat the same greens. All love the hibiscus flowers and leaves as an extra treat!
