I don't have a lot of cool pics that I want to share....

But here are a few that I am willing to share.

I also have some decent field shots on my external hard drive, but I am too lazy to connect it....haha

Those are some nice pics you posted. I need a better camera for that!

Pretty much the majority of the males were gorgeous.....we may have seen around 15-20 chucks that day.....not too sure...after a while you just stop counting.

We saw some really nice females....and one was huge!

My favorite pair that we found together...

You can see why they call them carrot tails

Another thing to note is that the carrot tails that we saw, looked a lot healthier and plump than a lot that are seen in many pics....perhaps healthier than captive animals too!

Hopefully I can get some more hatchling pics later this year for all you non-AZ residents to drool over.....hahahaha

Are they hard to catch and not injure the animal?

Some of your pix are better than the ones Greg found on the web. I love the head shot of the one with it's mouth open. You already have me drooling. You are so lucky to be able to go out and see chucks in the wild!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Primo, they are very hard to catch and if they cannot be caught safely, and legally, then they should be left alone.

Greg can't catch chuckwallas because he is always staring at my butt!

Just kidding.

Depending on where you go....they can be hard as hell to catch or easier to catch than most lizards.

I have a lot more pics, but all the male carrot tails look similar.
