Thanks Tim! I actually picked these guys up from my buddy Jerry Velasco. Jerry has a nice and healthy Philybi stock. I am so happy he let me take these guys off his hands. He is really a great guy after the transaction he still contacts me and checks on the pair of philbyi and gives me pointers for next season for breeding them.

Nice looking pair of Philbyi! Jerry has some really great ones.

Are you going to try to breed them next year?

hey troy! yes I am definitely trying to breed them next year. What I have noticed is that the male now just runs the female all day and bugs the heck out of her. I weigh all my uromastyx every saturday. I noticed her loosing some weight so all I do now is give her extra attention every other day I will seperate her for a few hours and allow her to eat all she wishes without the male bothering her. I tried to seperate them but the male starts to just focus on finding the female and he won't eat that much much when she is in the enclosure he eats alot. Now I have slowed them down getting them ready for next season I am actually following your tutorial Troy!!!

You better keep an eye on them. I ended up separating mine because the male would give her no peace at all and started biting at the flanks and actually drawing blood. These guys are pretty typical of most uros in that respect and once again reminded me what a pain in the ass uros are. I now have them seperated and put them together just to breed.

I agree with Tom, you really should consider separating them and only introducing for supervised breeding visits.

If you female is already losing weight that is not a good sign.

I house all my Uromastyx separately and find better growth rates and better health then when I tried them in pairs.

I am going to try a little lighter brumation this year. I am going to reduce lighting periods and keep feeding as opposed to years past where I cut the lights off with no feeding.
