My first thought is what are the exact temps? Do you have an infrared temp gun to get readings from different areas in the enclosure? Also is this a wild caught Uro? What type of set-up does he have it in? Uros can get very stressed and stop eating. If you could provide us with a little more information on how he is set-up, we may be able to help a bit more.

he has an ornate uro..we feed him greens and seeds...told to us by the rep at a pet store as to the feeding ...he has a 150 infrared light and a uv light for days .....we keep his food fresh and do not give him water ...he does have a half log type of hideout to keep cool and a thermometer so that we can monitor his temp...but he rarely comes out of his hiding and bask hardly ever ..

What are the temps? He sounds stressed, but more information is needed. What are you keeping him on? What type of enclosure do you have? Where is the enclosure located in the house?

Like Tim said we really can't help you much without more information....... .

Hiding a lot can mean many things, like stress, or to cold or just acclamatising,,,,,

So can you give some more info on:
How big is the cage, wat is it made off (all glass is more stressfull than a wooden cage), what are the temps (hotspot , hot side and cold side), what substrate do you use, What UVB bulb do you use, what are you feeding, how much are you handeling the uro, have you changed anything since you got him? Is it Wild caught or Captive bred? How long do you have the Uro? Did you have him checked by a vet after you bought him (or a feacal check)?

Thanks
gr. Kamiel
