So I have put a female, one at a time for short periods of time in with the male. They are so mean to him. I am not sure he will mate with them. He did the push ups and chased them for a short time. Then they got after him. One got him so bad she wounded his flanks. You can see the wounds here just above the millet stuck to his side. I have put neosporin on them, hence the stuck millet. They are healing well. I am not sure what to do, other than keep them separate for an extended period of time and try introducing a female again. Poor boy!

Hey Tim. My female took a chunk out of my male's upper thigh. She is bigger than the male and was generally pretty submissive and then she started standing up for herself. I did put them (together) in an area about twice the size of a shoe box for a while and they were laying on top of each other and getting along real well. I put them back in their enclosure (6 X 3 X 3 feet) and they stay on separate sides and sometime chase eachother and bite at eachother. I am watching them to see if they mellow out for now...

Hey Tim -
I (may) have a solution for your mean Sudanese females. I re-arranged the cage and mine are much better. The male still thinks he's God's gift to Uros, but they are getting along much better and the female doesn't hiss at him or try and bite him. Kinda' sucks though, I don't like this layout as much, but the change in the environment is something they like and it may bring on some romantic feelings... It might be worth a try.

I have separated them all. Each female alone and the male in a separate enclosure. I may place a female with the male for 30 mins in another month or so. If I do, I will be right there watching them like crazy. Thanks for the suggestion though. I am glad it is working out for yours.

Hey Tim,
Mine are back to fighting! If I let them wander around in a big, empty are - they are best of friends, but in a 6X3X3 foot enclosure they become brats! I think the male wants nothing to do with the female and she wants to be friends and gets frustrated when he runs away from her so she bites his tail. They both like when I put him on her back, but otherwise they fight.
SO...
They have an almost empty enclosure and I have barricaded them into about 1/4th of the total area and they are getting along great. We'll see what happens...

Aren't Uros a right pain in the ass? Mine are still living separate.
