First hello to the forum and happy to found it. Well this year i have incubate my ornate eggs total of 16 under 31º C for the first month and 32ºC for the second, but still look like nothing happen. Last years at 35º I was near to got my babies.
The reason i choose incubate so low temperature was i am using SIM system with water, so i was afraid to high level of humedity.

So my question is today is my 60 day of incubation, do you think i can increase 2 º C more? Or could affect it to the eggs.

Sorry I cannot help Vano as I am not at all familiar with this system. Maybe Kamiel can chime in from the Netherlands. I still use the olf fashion hova-bator and vermiculite. LOL

Yeah I kind of do. It seems like a lot of the breeders here say it is pretty important with uro eggs to maintain temps pretty steady through the whole incubation period.

Hi,

I never used those sims either, I also use a hovabator type incubator and vermucelite......

I have hatched all eggs on 32 degrees this year so that would be okay.

Nice Job Vano. I guess the power going out was not that important. I always hear how critcal maintaining a constant temp is but I would have to bet that incubation nest chambers vary to a degree as far as temp goes. A few year ago when I first bred acanthinurus evryone was telling me my eggs were not going to hatch because my temps varied about 4-5 degrees. Well all the eggs hatched just fine. Also I hatched chuckwallas out keeping the first 6 weeks or so about 30C then dropping them to room temp for the remainder. They all hatched too although it took like 110 days. It was part of an experiment because someone told me they thought the eggs over wintered and hatched in the spring when a clutch was laid later in the year. Well now I suppose it is possible they just take longer to hatch and stay in hibernation until the spring. Who knows. Anyway glad they hatched for you!
