Hello Everybody!!!
I haven't had much to say because my Egyptian Uro has been in brumation since mid-October. However, this week he has been out of his hide for 3 days in a row. Hopefully, he is coming out of brumation.
I am really glad to see him as it has been a very boring Winter with the Uro only appearing once or twice a week. He looks pretty good as far as weight goes. He did lose a bit over the past months but he is eating a decent amount so that is a good sign.
My Uro still has his favorite places to hang out and he loves digging the sand out from under the rocks at the cool end of the enclosure. He will stay in the cool end for about 15 minutes then walk over to the hot spot on the flagstone and have a warmup.
Another favorite spot for him is his large food dish which is actually sold as a water dish. It has the high sides to contain the water but my Uro loves to climb into it and use it as an observation post. The dish is right under the UVB tubes so it makes it all the better.
You have to love Uro behavior because they don't stay in one place too long unless they fall asleep. LOL!!!

Hi. I can now make it official. Brumation season is over for my Uro. He comes out of his hide every day now and eats like a piggy throught the day. This was very scary for me as he is my first Uro I have kept and have had him less than 7 months.

Glad he did so well during brumation and is out and about. Spring is in the air here, too!
